We Are the Ninety-Nine

This is my latest creation.  Still pending the music part, but these are the lyrics…

Countless people realizing that they simply aren’t fine

Richest all got theirs and somehow then they didn’t get to mine

The madness has been growing and its time we stop and draw the line

Echo now the growing voices of the angry ninety-nine

Lies of all the puppet masters now have begun to unwind

Now it’s clear that they are evil aren’t even human kind

Masses now are all arising speaking with a common mind

Drunken on elixir of the power of the ninety-nine

We will be victorious we’re the ninety-nine percent

By day I’ll stand and occupy, by night I’ll remain in my tent

We will fire politicians and defiantly prevent

The thieving of the banksters, not allowing even one more cent

Taking to the streets to vent my anger with a homemade sign

We no longer will accept or believe that same old party line

Motivated to directly acting not to simply bitch and whine

Ensuring that they heed the massive movement of the ninety-nine

We will be victorious we’re the ninety-nine percent

By day I’ll stand and occupy, by night I’ll remain in my tent

We will fire politicians and defiantly prevent

The thieving of the banksters, not allowing even one more cent

No!

This is my latest song, inspired by recent protests.  I stand with you, brothers and sisters!   I’m thinking maybe a reggae feel?  The music is yet to be determined but here’s the lyrics.

No!  No!  No!

I won’t give you my approval      (verse 1)

I won’t be cowed so I agree

I will stand in opposition

Silence is consent tacitly

I will stand up with my brothers

Defiant to our klepto state

Every day our ranks are growing

And becoming more irate

It makes me smile to see that now

The Arab Spring has reached our shores

Maybe now we’ll rid our land

Of all the corporate lackey whores

I can hear their voices now

Wall Street has been beckoning

Much like I can hear the cry

To ensure the banksters’ reckoning

You know that we know, you know    (chorus)

We know that you know that we know

And now that you know that we know what you did

You’re trying like mad at maintaining the lid

But now it’s too late cuz the anger is boiling

You’re frightened and scared and you’re shorts you’re a soiling

Now you can see that the tide is a turning

The battle is lost and your palace is burning

The corporate lackeys and all of the shills

Make for the exits and head for the hills

The masses arisen, the power it kills

Like a bottle of Jack and a handful of pills

We know, you know, you know that it’s so

That all of your hookers and mountains of blow

And all of your excesses all got to go

The ninety-nine answered and told your ass NO

No!  No!  No!

The one percent will leave us nothing    (verse 2)

And thus unite the ninety-nine

Drag the banksters from the shadows

Shine the spotlight on their crime

We’re the ones that you can’t sucker

We’re the ones who are not blind

Growing daily are the numbers

Of the class of ninety-nine

All your plans will come to nothing

Because we won’t go quietly

In the end you’ll be undone

Because we’ll stand defiantly

Either with a massive perp walk

Or if vigilante style

There will be a time and soon

That lady justice finally smiles

(chorus)

No!  No!  No!

You will not escape our justice    (verse 3)

All your lies will all come out

You will get what’s surely coming

Of that there is no more doubt

We know all that you’ve been hiding

The evidence exists in large amount

Know that there’ll be no escaping

You shall be held to account

We can see you in the shadows

Hiding from the creeping light

All your efforts will be fruitless

You will not stay out of sight

We can see you and we’ll squeeze you

We really wouldn’t want to be you

Now it’s clear we really scare you

Try and stop us now we dare you

(chorus)
